Be Prepared to be Wowed All Year Long
I'm not sure how it all came to be, but I'd been emailing a bit with a long-time customer and on a whim asked if she wanted to be a Guest on our blog. I'd never seen any of her work, but something told me it was going to be just fine. And boy, I'm smart!
I sent Christine Heye our JB Seasons sets to work with, and what she sent back made me feel like this:
Now, truth be told, I can be a bit dramatic. Not much though, more like the size of a flake of ground black pepper, so really very little. Almost none, actually. But believe me when I tell you that I had the exact above response internally when I saw her cards.
Let's see if your chin goes 'thud' too.
We have to start with JB Spring Scenes first, right? That's kind of where we are in the seasons, and frankly I can't wait another moment to show this off. The way she colored the fleece on her Llama? Stop it. I love how she divided the scene using the Stitched Center Strips Cover-Up, it perfects the layout.
One thing I noticed right off the bat are the small subtleties that makes her cards so rich. The distressing on the panel, clouds tucked in top and bottom, the smaller sentiments which are just enough to keep your eyes moving but not so much that they detract from the main image. The muted colors, and be still me heart; the hearts! What are your favorite parts?
Even though technically the JB Summer Scenes had already been released, you can't skip summer, right? Sometimes I really think I'm nuts because I completely geek out on this kind of stuff. I love how she used the Essential Hello Die-namics and just dipped them on her sandy shore, leaving enough white space so that they don't overwhelm the design. And, truly, who doesn't want to swim with pigs? I know you can in the Bahamas, although I've heard they will kind of barrel over you. I'd be willing to take that chance though.
This year is just racing by, isn't it? We are already up to JB Fall Scenes! We have a million adorable critters, most of which would work in any of these scenes. That's the brilliance of stamps and creativity. And if they aren't perfectly in scale, do exactly what Christine has done in this card and the one below, which is create some optical distance between the background and the foreground.
Last for now, but oh so very not least, is the JB Winter Scenes set. I almost don't have words for this card. Which I imagine to a non-crafter would sound crazy, but if you know, you know, and we know.
The outside snowy background using the Winter Scenes set, with a frosty background and the most delicate snowflakes, snowy hills coated with Liquid Appliqué add a little texture to the edge of each snow pile: SWOON.
What you need to do right now is order your JB Scenery Sets - the Whole Kit & Caboodle because at $36 it's a must, and then start imagining all the ways you can use it! I'd say to even bookmark this post and make sure to follow Christine for a constant dose of cuteness.
For those who walk on the cheeky side, we've had a restock of Sassy Pants sets, so you can pop those in your cart as well. They'll be shipped in a plain brown box. 😉
