Stacey Yacula's Merry Wishes menagerie is getting the Sandy Allnock treatment in the October Create in Color feature — you know it will be amazing! Let's see what she's cooked up for us this month.

Happy October, coloristas! It's Sandy Allnock here to visit again and since it's October, I'm heavy into the Christmas card season. I've got 250 to make before December 1st — how are you progressing on your cards this year??

I'm delighted to add this little Stacey Yacula card to my collection; I just love her art style! I tried a slight homage to her cute illustration style using my Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils — the colors are fun and bright, and mixing techniques lets me do different textures to create critters! Watch the video below:

I picked a bright collection of colors for the hats and tree, and neutrals for the critters.

I did make the tree on my own, even though you could use the tree stamp in the set, too - but creating my own tree meant I didn't have to do any crazy masking.

I hit a roadblock when it came to adding the sentiment to my cute square card so I borrowed a sentiment from the Festive Friends set that worked perfectly...let's get festive!

I'm now up to maybe 70 cards for my collection...I think. I'm keeping mental track after my last counting, but I'm a little afraid to count for real just yet. Hope you're making progress on your early projects too!

Sandy never fails in making us want to *immediately* do some crafting and now that the October Release is shipping out around the world, we're ready to see your MFT holiday creations as well! Tag us by using #mftstamps when you upload so we can admire and be inspired by your work too.
