Tone-on-tone coloring with simple freehand blocks of color and a myriad of petite underwater images makes this look from Sandy completely adorable and endlessly customizable. Any stamp collection in your stash that features an assortment of small images can be used to replicate this style, but we're very fond of the Best Fins set she featured here.

TGIF, coloring friends! It’s Sandy Allnock, back for more coloring — this time with the Best Fins stamp set I had lots of fun with simmmmple color! It makes for a really happy little card, and I think we need some happy right about now, don’t we?

This design technique would work for lots of stamp sets that have a number of small images. It doesn’t even matter what colors or brands of paint you’re using — just have fun with color!

Tip for coloring: Use lighter colors for the background shapes, and water them down enough to be nice and light. Unless you know how one color will layer over another, paint images in red on a red shape, blue on a blue shape, etc...otherwise, you might be surprised with some mud!

On a simple-to-paint design like this, a little shine highlights the images — I used Glossy Accents to add the twinkle!

Don’t forget the inside of the card. With the goggles, use a little lighter shade inside the glass to make it look clear.

Adding Glossy Accents to the goggles makes them special too!

Hope this easy little watercolor will inspire you to make a fun card to send to someone needing cheered up!

How cute! What a great idea. I love how forgiving it is. I also love how you can use so many images. Off to see what I have. Thanks, MFT and Sandy!
