Working on Halloween cards in August means October is wide open for Christmas card production! Sandy's got the right idea and the newest set from Stacey Yacula provides such a fun starting point for sweetly spooky projects!

Hello coloring friends! It’s Sandy Allnock, and I’m trying to decide whether to be excited or scared that Halloween stamps are already out — ha!

I’m stoked because, well, it means I’ll be ahead when the season comes. Nothing like having a stash saved up and ready! I don’t send a lot of spooky cards, but I do like to have a few on hand, and by October I’m knee-deep in making hundreds of Christmas cards. I’m scared though because it means the year is marching on (I’m hearing jingle bells in the distance and beginning to freak out!)

I got out my Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils — I think they’ve become my favorite brand because they really do melt like buttah!

Don’t you just love Halloween stamps that are cute and not-so-scary? The little owl in the Spooktacular Friends set is trying hard to be scary by walking with arms out like a zombie, but don’t believe it. I’m pretty sure he’s giggling!

Scenes don’t have to be really complex to be effective; with this one, it’s a few sidewalk lines and a little hint at fencing, and that’s enough to make it a scene!

I hope you’re ok with seeing holiday cards creeping your way...it gets earlier every year, but hopefully that means most of us can be done early and not panicking, right?? (OK, let’s at least hope that’s how it goes!)

See you again next month!

We always love how Sandy hints at scenery and shares such great tips for creating easy scenes for her creatures and characters with a variety of mediums. Has she inspired your scene building? Let's see them! Tag #mftstamps so we can admire your masterpieces as well.
