Introducing the 2023 Card Design Superstars: Box Card Master

It's the day we've all been looking forward! Today is the day we begin to reveal the winners of the 2023 Card Design Superstar Contest. We are continuing the tradition, started last year, of stretching the excitement through the weekend, focusing on one category each day. Stick with us all three days as we introduce ALL the 2023 Superstars.

As in years past, we're blown away by your talent, ingenuity, and attention to detail. We know you put your heart into every project submitted and we appreciate you sharing your vision with us — every entry is special and a testament to your creativity.

Our judges have been hard at work narrowing the entries down to fifteen winners. They have to make a lot of hard choices to make their final selections, and all wish they could pick more. But, we're ready to begin debuting our 2023 class of Superstars!

When choosing our winners, we were looking for cards using My Favorite Things supplies that embodied the following characteristics:

• Great design
• Superb execution
• Clever uses of our product
• Fresh approaches

As a reminder, we have five $250 winners from each category, and one randomly selected $100 winner. All of our winners will be emailed at the conclusion of announcements on Sunday regarding their prizes. Congratulations to you all.

Without further ado, meet your 2023 Box Card Master Card Design Superstars! 

Box Card Master

WHAT WE LOVE:

Halloween is all about sweet treats and Caitlin's spooky twist on a box of donuts has us screaming! The traditional black and orange palette carried throughout the card further accentuates the shock of green she chose for the hand reaching in for a delicious bite. Her clever and unexpected use of the box die shelves combined with the restraint of the overall design make Caitlin a Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

A trip to the cupcake shop is always a good idea — especially when you're accompanied by charming companions from some of our most beloved illustrator lines. Christine's interactive card opens up to reveal a delightful interior complete with a counter lined with cupcakes. The sides of the card feature windows for additional peeks inside as well. Make sure to click through to fully experience every dimension of the card! Christine's attention to detail and innovative use of multiple sides are some of the things that make her a Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

Davina's mini slimline-sized entry features impeccable coloring and a warm and cozy palette. Her card features lots of layers allowing her to tuck loads of pumpkins, characters, and scene setters within. It's a perfectly inviting entry for her corn maze characters to enjoy. Her eye for creating balance in a scene abundant with images is what makes Davina a Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

What initially seems to be a classic box card design (done exceptionally well!) is immediately elevated with the push of a button. Thanks to a button concealed within the box, not one, but TWO cozy lamps illuminate Jennifer's Bookworm Bears. Ingenuity in integrating an incredible interactive feature makes Jennifer a 2023 Superstar.

WHAT WE LOVE:

So much to see — you MUST check out Melina's Instagram reel to really get a feel for the full Halloween effect she's managed to pack into her entry. Judges loved how she continued her scene down each level of shelves and onto her card front as well as her fantastic coloring. There are so many details to take in, but the real trick is the treat on the back of the card. All these details and more make Melina Superstar-worthy.
