Shakers Gonna Shake (shake, shake, shake, shake) – Creating a Shaker Card with a Word Die
Day four of our shaker card tutorial week is here! Just wait until you see what is in store for today…
You’d think that we would run out of ideas after three days of shaker cards and instructional videos, but the fact of the matter is, we’re in this for the long haul. We’ve got more great inspiration coming to you today and tomorrow including more great prizes. And you just can’t beat that!
Today our Shakers Gonna Shake (shake, shake, shake, shake) series will focus on creating a shaker card with a word dies. If you’re anything like me, you have a collection of word dies that you go to again and again. With this tutorial, you’ll be able to use those dies in a brand new way.
Creating a Shaker Card with a Word Die
My Favorite Things Design Team member Stephanie Klauck took some time to create this super informative video giving lots of great tips and ideas for creating a shaker card with word dies. Click HERE or simply watch below!
If you’re wondering how Stephanie was able to space the three thank words that appear on the card, you can see that she used a T-square to get just the right placement. Oh, math. You can be so helpful!
As Stephanie said in the video, it’s important to be generous with your sequins and seed beads. When the card stands up, gravity will shake those beads and sequins down. {hey, science!}
Many thanks to Stephanie for taking the time to make two such great videos for us this week! You can see the one she did on Tuesday about creating a flat shaker card HERE.
Which word die will you use? This technique would make a super fun birthday card!
All week we’ve been giving away prizes, and today is no different! Take a look at this beautiful prize we’ve gathered. We’ll get you started with some of the essentials you’ll need to create a shaker card. One winner will take away foam tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, a package of heat resistant acetate, Die-namics Happy Hellos, and three packages of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. All winners will be announced next week, so stay tuned for the announcement!
