Happy Tuesday, Creative Friends! What’s shakin’? Looks like our shaker card week is going to be a popular one!

Even though you’ve likely completed your years of education, the desire to learn more probably hasn’t dwindled for you. Perhaps this is why instructional videos on YouTube and online classes are so popular, especially among crafters.

Enter this Shakers Gonna Shake promotional week from My Favorite Things. It’s one thing to show cute shaker cards for you to ooooh and aaaahhhh over, but showing you HOW is of even greater value, don’t you think?

Today our Shakers Gonna Shake (shake, shake, shake, shake) series will focus on creating a flat shaker card. If you want to send a flat and mailable card, you don’t have to forego shaker card fun. Let’s see what it’s all about!

How-to Create a Flat Shaker Card

My Favorite Things Design Team member Stephanie Klauck sat down and created a fantastic tutorial for creating a flat shaker card. Take a few minutes to see how she did it by watching the video below.

See? It’s not so hard! It’s all in what you choose to put inside when it comes to flat shaker cards.

Once you have the shaker constructed, you can finish the card design in any way you’d like!

As Stephanie said, vellum softens the elements on the inside of the shaker card. By using acetate, you’ll be able to see them more clearly.

Fun, right? I wouldn’t blame you for skipping out of work early or insisting on a longer naptime today. *wink*
