How long have you been making cards?

I've always been creative. I grew up drawing, writing poetry, and journaling, so I've always had a deep love for paper and ink. I didn't find the world of cardmaking until 2020, right before the pandemic. I was searching YouTube for calligraphy tutorials as I wanted to pick it back up as a hobby, stumbled upon a cardmaking tutorial, and the rest is history! I am so thankful to have found my passion and this incredible community of makers.

Do you have other crafty hobbies you enjoy?

Not really right now. I don't have much time outside of cardmaking. I do like to take classes every so often as I love learning new things like painting, cooking, and pottery.

What’s your favorite technique for adding interest to your projects?

It's hard to pick just one because I love to try so many different things. For me, cardmaking is an expression of myself and my creativity, and that varies from day to day. In general, I love making fun backgrounds with a variety of mediums like watercolor or alcohol ink. I love patterns — patterned paper or making my own patterns with stamps and ink splatters. I've also become partial to adding a light-up element to my cards which I will showcase today.

What’s your current favorite MFT product?

This is tough because there are so many great MFT products! I have a soft spot for floral stamps and dies — especially the new Fundamental Florals set. And I love every single one of the monthly card kits. They are so unique and creative!
