It’s never an easy thing, is it? But today is even more bittersweet as we must say goodbye to someone who has been a part of MFT for many years.
Joanne Basile has accepted a new position that will take her away from her role with MFT and (temporarily) away from papercrafting in general. While I wish her well, it will definitely feel odd to not have her as part of MFT any longer.
I first met Jo in January of 2008 at the CHA show in Anaheim, CA. She was attending with a company she designed for, but stopped by my booth and brought me a little mailbox she’d created using the Be Mine stamp set. She filled the mailbox with Hot Tamales, and with that, she had my heart.
Not too long after that I invited Jo to be on the MFT design team, and she’s been with us ever since. She’s had many varied roles during her tenure, most recently as the video specialist that records all of our product videos.
Here’s a look back at some of my fondest Jo memories:
Jo was my right hand at my annual Rep show in MA each year. Here’s a pic of her teaching a sample frenzy project.
Below are CHA photos from 2009 through 2012.
And here is a photo from 2013 at our MFT Management Retreat.
We have had many great adventures and memories together, too many to recount, but each one precious.
While I know that my friendship will remain, I will still miss her, as will the rest of the MFT family.
Big hugs and lots of love, Basile!
