Release Rewind Day One

The countdown is over, orders have been placed, and now our team is working to pack and ship your orders as quickly as possible because we can’t wait to see what you do with the new stamps, Die-namics, stencils, card stock, and inks. We don’t want to leave you hanging in the meantime though, so how about our talented team shares some more sweet treats from our March, 2015 release? Day one of our Release Rewind begins now.

Celebrate Your Constant Companions

MFT_PetPromo_Animals Print

Now that the March release is ready for action, we want to make sure that you’re following along with our Celebrate Your Constant Companions March promotion. All week long we are having fun on our Facebook page HERE and on our Instagram account @mftstamps.

Not only do you have the chance to brag about your pet, you can win some prizes, too. And those cute little animals in the brand spankin’ new You Make My Tail Wag, Woof You, I Knead You, and Feline Better stamp sets (and coordinating Die-namics!) that you’ve been oooooohhhing and aaaaahhhing over? Yep, those are up for grabs. Wouldn’t it be fun to win them? You BET it would!

Even if you missed out on the promotion on Monday and Tuesday, you can still participate since all of the winners will be announced on Monday, March 9th. So head to Facebook and Instagram and catch up with everything you’ve missed.

One thing particulary special about this promotion is that My Favorite Things founder Kim van der Sanden has a real heart for animals. As a matter of fact, she says that this release is her most favorite to date! To sweeten the pot, Kim is donating $100 to pet charities each day this week. We hope that you’ll consider donating as well.

Here are some quick donation links to the pet charities we’re highlighting this week:

And just for fun, I had members of the My Favorite Things design team and the MFT Challenge & Inspiration team as well as members of the management team and those who work at the MFT HQ in Florida to share pictures of themselves with their pets.

Pet Selfies

That’s a whole lot of cute, wouldn’t you agree?

So tell us about your pets! What kind of a pet do you have? And which of the new pet products released this month is your favorite?

Sprinkled with Fun

We can’t get enough of Betty‘s gorgeous work so we’re happy to welcome her back today for another fabulous guest post.

Hi, I am Betty Wright and I am back again today to share two more cards with you!

For my first card I got to play with food! I started with Smooth White, Summer Splash, Sno Cone, Tropical Teal, Berrylicious, Natural, and Persimmon card stocks. My card base is Smooth White. I die cut another Smooth White panel using the scalloped frame from Blueprints 20. I die cut the Tropical Teal, Berrylicious, Summer Splash, and Sno Cone card stocks using the Horizontal Stitched Strips Die-namics. I stamped each panel using the Houndstooth Background in matching inks using Tropical Teal, Berrylicious, Summer Splash and Sno Cone Premium Dye Inks. I layered them in a graduated effect from lightest to darkest. I die cut the Persimmon Card Stock using the Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX. I stamped this panel using Persimmon Premium Dye Ink and the Swiss Dot Background. I popped this panel up with Foam Mounting Tape.

Next, I got to play with the Donuts Die-namics. I cut three of the smaller donuts using natural card stock and used the Smooth White for the layered icing portion. I stamped the sprinkles from the Donuts and Sprinkles stamp set using Persimmon, Summer Splash, and Lemon Chiffon Premium Dye Inks. Aren’t they the sweetest treats ever? I arranged the donuts on the side of the card using Foam Mounting Tape. For the sentiment I used Blueprints 20 again for the stitched sentiment strip. I stamped the sentiment from Donuts and Sprinkles using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I finished my card with a few sequins which were easily placed with the QuickStik Pick-Up Tool. The best part about these donuts is that they are gluten free!

For my second card, let’s just say I had some fun with color! This card makes me happy, happy! I love the bold color combo with the mix of patterns. One thing I love to do is look at all of my MFT stamps and Die-namics to see what can work with my newest MFT goodies. Here is what I mixed together for this card!

I started with MFT card stock in Smooth White, Summer Splash, Pure Plum, and Peach Bellini. The card base is Smooth White. I die cut another Smooth White panel using Blueprints 15. I layered the Vertical Stitched Strips Die-namics. I stamped each with the Harlequin Background with matching Premium Dye Inks in Pure Plum, Peach Bellini, and Summer Splash. I die cut the Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX using the Keep on Rockin’ stamp set equalizer stamp at the bottom in Summer Splash. I stamped the sentiment from the Chalkboard Greetings stamp set in Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I colored the banner with Copics. I stamped the pause button from the Keep on Rockin’ stamp set in Pure Plum. I used some Foam Mounting Tape to pop up this panel. I finished the front of the card with some loose thread for added detailing.

However, I did not stop there. I decided I wanted to add a little something, something to the inside of my card. I die cut the largest of the Stitched Rounded Rectangle Die-namics and again stamped the equalizer bars at the bottom using Pure Plum ink this time.  I stamped the sentiment from Keep on Rockin’ stamp set without the “you” at the end. I thought it would be fun to add interest using the die-cut word “YOU” from Lots of Love Die-namics in Summer Splash Card Stock. Instead of just stamping the pause button in the center, I used a die-cut circle element from Out on a Limb Die-namics that fit the pause image beautifully.  I love how it turned out. It is fun to play with all of my MFT stamps and Die-namics to see what works together. That is it for today!  Again, thanks so much My Favorite Things for asking me to showcase your products!  As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Welcome Baby Girl

Melody is with us today sharing a beautiful card for baby girl. She’s created a design that effortlessly combines elegance and sweetness – an ideal combination for welcoming a girly new addition.

Grout Gray is a perfect foil to baby-soft Pink Lemonade with a pop of sassy Razzle Berry. It balances the sparkly glitter paper and sequins as well. Little details like the neat row of peek-a-boo holes and stitched edge make the design even more special. This is a keepsake that will be tucked away for baby girl to admire once she’s all grown up.

We’d love to see what you’re doing with MFT products in crafting your own special occasion cards. Make sure to tag #mftstamps when you share your projects on social media so we can give you some love.

You Rock

I’d characterize the fun projects Betty has created for us today as bright, bold, and beautiful – I think you’ll agree once you see what she’s created!

Hi, I am Betty Wright and I am so excited to be guest designing for My Favorite Things today.  I am a huge fan!  I have two cards to share with you.

For the first card I started with Black LicoriceLush Lagoon, Ripe RaspberrySummer SplashLimelight, and Lemon Drop card stocks. I am just over the moon with all the new MFT colors! The card base is Black Licorice. I die cut another Black Licorice panel using Blueprints 13 for the stitched edging and then, I used the newly released Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched Square STAX to create an inside out stitched frame. I stamped the bottom of this panel with Keep on Rockin’ stamp set using Versamark and then clear embossed for a cool effect.

For the sentiment I used Blueprints 11 and die cut the “You Rock” in Black Licorice and Limelight card stocks. I stamped the Limelight sentiment with Sheet Music background using Limelight Premium Dye Ink. I glued the two panels together, slightly offsetting the black for a shadow effect. I attached the sentiment behind the inside cut-out frame panel popping the letters on the outside of the frame’s edge for added interest. I popped up the entire frame using Foam Mounting Tape and inserted the cut-out interior frame to the recess behind for added detail. To complete the card, I die cut several of the smaller headphones that come in the newly released Headphones Die-namics and arranged them on the card as shown.

For my second card, I went in a completely different direction. This is what I love about MFT stamps and Die-namics – there is just so much versatility and style options with these products.

I started with Smooth WhiteSummer SplashCherry Crisp, and Coral Crush card stocks. Have I mentioned how much I love the new colors? I die cut the Coral Crush panel using the stitched frame from Blueprints 15. I stamped this panel with the Harlequin Background stamp using Coral Crush Premium Dye Ink. I die cut the Summer Splash using the Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX. I stamped this panel using the Linen Background in Summer Splash Premium Dye Ink. I used Foam Mounting Tape to pop up this panel. Next, I die cut the Cherry Crisp panel using Horizontal Stitched Strips Die-namics and stamped it using the Pinstripe Background in Cherry Crisp Premium Dye Ink.

I die cut the Smooth White Card Stock with Pierced Circle STAX and stamped the sentiment from Spring Tulips stamp set in the center using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  I offset the circle die cut and used Foam Mounting Tape to pop it up a bit for added dimension.   I die cut the Spring Tulips Die-namics, stamped with the coordinating image from the Spring Tulips stamp set, and colored with Copics. I popped the tulips up as well using a bit of Foam Mounting Tape.  I finished my card with a few sequins which were easily placed with the QuickStik Pick-Up Tool. I used this tool all of the time!

That is it for me today.  Many thanks for My Favorite Things for asking me to showcase their products!  As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Total Favorite

Mary Dawn Quirindongo is joining us on the blog today with two more outstanding projects. Let’s see what she has to say about these eye-catching cards!

For my first project, I used the large candy jar die as a vase and filled it with die-cut elements from the Lily Die-Namics. I colored the lilies and leaves with Spectrum Noir Markers and added sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella Glitter brush marker. I added a sentiment from Donuts and Sprinkles and then stared at it for 3 hours because I’m in serious love.

I decided to give myself a break and make a one-layer card next (haha, I know, good one). Using the Candy Jar Companions stamp set, I stamped 6 bunnies in yellow pigment ink in a (sort of) neat row and added the only sentiment I could add to a card covered in bunnies. I added some dimension with a yellow colored pencil and some ground with a gray one. Finally, I added their eyes and noses with a black glaze pen, giving more texture and dimension to this simple card.

Do you love how these cards range from seriously elegant to achingly cute…intricately assembled to simply stamped? She has run the gamut and I’m in love. Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us Mary Dawn!

You Have My Heart

Join us in welcoming Lea Lawson back to the blog. She’s sharing a love-themed card inspired by this week’s Sketch Challenge. I love how she completed the sentiment stamped with the Smitten with You set by adding the iconic die-cut heart created with Blueprints 15.

Valentine’s Day is almost here! Are you frantically whipping up some last minute cards to give to the people that you love?  If so, look no further than this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch #215!  It is simple, but packs an awesome design punch!

I’ve created a bold card full of rainbow stripes & script, paired with the Smitten with You stamp set and a couple of Blueprints Die-namics.  Here is how I created the card, step by step!

  1. Make an A2 card from Smooth White Card Stock.
  2. Trim a small block of rainbow striped paper, and adhere to the bottom of the card.
  3. Trim a panel of black script paper, and die cut a circle from the bottom of it.
  4. Adhere the paper block to the right side of the card with foam adhesive.
  5. Trim a 3/4″ strip of white cardstock, then stamp the sentiment onto it.
  6. Die cut the tab and heart from the striped paper.
  7. Adhere the tab next to the stamped sentiment, then cut banner edges to the paper strip.
  8. Adhere the sentiment strip with foam dots over top of the cutout circle.
  9. Tuck & adhere the tab slightly underneath the scripted paper block.
  10. Accent the tab and the heart with jewels to finish.

This card could be given to anyone you love, including your spouse or significant other, children, family & friends!  I hope you choose to use the sketch for some last minute Valentines….and can’t wait to see what you create!  Have an awesome day!

Lea was inspired by this week’s sketch – now it’s your turn. Make sure to check out the Challenge & Inspiration blog for all of the details and to share a link to your own project. Print
